RESERVOIR
Verse I
I stay up late every night with my best friend,
He is the one who I tell when I'm sad.
I lie awake every night.
He is the one who'll accompany me,
As I run around the reservoir looking for a hedgehog.
He'll stay by my side until my lips turn blue.
I like awake every night.
I lie awake.

Chorus
Because I'm anxious 'til I fall asleep,
Tell me when you wanna meet,
Down by the reservoir.
Because I'm anxious 'til I fall asleep,
Tell me when you wanna meet,
Down by the reservoir.
Verse II
I stay up late every night with my best friend,
And dance in socks to dust covered albums.
I lie awake every night.

And as we skim the flattest stones,
And I search for the perfect pinecone,
And wash the dirty right off my dungarees...

I can tell that we are gonna be friends.

This song's back hurts from single handedly carrying my Spotify streams.
A lot of my songs are laboured over for weeks and months at a time but this song was written in 20 minutes.
It was written in competition with a friend to see who could write the better song in 20 minutes using the same four chords.

And who was that friend? Sophie Ellis-Bextor
